Jute: natural, organic, beautiful, flexible
Compartir
Jute is one of the longest and most widely used natural fibers for various textile applications.
It is extracted from the bark of the white jute plant and, in smaller quantities, from red jute (C. olitorius). It is a natural fiber with a golden, silky luster, which is why it is known as 'golden fiber'. Jute is an annual crop that grows in about 120 days (between April/May and July/August).
It is a rainfed crop that requires few fertilizers and pesticides. Yields are about 2 tons of dry jute per hectare. It is one of the most affordable natural fibers, considered the second most important vegetable fiber after cotton.
And, of course, it is the most characteristic raw material for the models that we at Salvi Calzados design and create especially for you. (Image that can be supplied by the jute provider without mentioning the source).
